Abstract We study how employers and job seekers respond to credible information on skills that are difficult observe, this affects matching in the labour market. experimentally vary whether certificates workers’ non-cognitive disclosed both sides of market during interviews between young workers small firms Uganda. The cause increase their expectations, while high-ability managers revise assessments upwards. reaction terms beliefs leads an positive assortative higher earnings for workers, conditional employment.
